Q1. Will you commit to returning the Hope Township LLRW TRUST Fund capital and unspent interest to the W2 ratepayers?
A1. DIDN’T ANSWER, ONLY COMMENTED.
The LLRW Trust will be reviewed and the capital and interest set up as outlined in the original agreements.

Q2. Will you respect the terms of the LLRW Agreement (Schedule 8, Township of Hope Fund) which states that the annual interest on the $10M Hope Township LLRW TRUST Fund will be used “to defray the lower tier municipal taxes or levies which would otherwise be payable by the ratepayers” of the former Township of Hope?
A2. DIDN’T ANSWER, ONLY COMMENTED.
If Ward 2 wish to use interest in this manner, I don’t see a problem with it.

Q3. Will you commit to re-open the area rating of taxes between Ward 1 and Ward 2, cancel the 37% tax increase to Ward 2, and work out a fair, equitable and transparent sharing of taxes between Ward 1 and Ward 2?
A3. DIDN’T ANSWER, ONLY COMMENTED.
All sources and uses of funds need to be examined. New Operating and Capital plans will have to put together than we can examine what taxes need to be increased and by how much.

Q4. Will you demand a cost breakdown and public disclosure of where our tax money is being spent in each department and in each Ward?
A4. YES.  This disclosure should be made on a monthly or quarterly basis,in a format that is easily understood.

Q5. Will you agree to continue OPP policing for Ward 2 as long as Ward 2 residents wish it to continue?
A5. DIDN’T ANSWER, ONLY COMMENTED.
I am not convinced this is the best long term solution, we have seen OPP wages rise and the impact these rising wages have on the taxes of our neighbouring communities. I would suggest we review all issues relating to policing as our current contract ends.

Q6. Will you agree to keep the Welcome Fire Station open?
A6. DIDN’T ANSWER, ONLY COMMENTED.
I need more information on this subject, any opinion I currently have would not be fact based.

Q7. How will you address and overcome the current discord between Ward 1 and Ward 2 with positive action?
I would like to examine the feasibility of re aligning the Ward voting structure so that representation is equalized to a better extent than exists currently. We have to get away from the Ward 1/Ward 2 nomenclature, it is too devisive. We are one communitiy, all facing the same economic problems, let’s solve it together.
